BMW radio code

The 95 BMW 318is radio was asking me for a code..i have got the code but now the radio doesnt turn on, like the word "CODE" is not displayed...any suggestions..i have checked the fuse but they seem to be fine, i have changed the battery so i dont know if it has anything to do with it... the bmw customer service lady told me to turn the ignition to the first dial for hour and a half and it will reset the radio but that didnt happen...please help me...I appreciate any help

Are u sure the radios not turning on? Could it be that the display isnt lighting up (which is a common problem with most E36's, mine included? Cause sometimes my display doesnt light up so it looks as if its off.

no i am pretty sure it is not the display...cuz i tried inserting a casette and it wouldnt work...the bmw customer service told me that when u enter various codes to try to unlock the radio the radio shuts off and she told me to reset i did that but it still doesnt turn on.

I had the same problem with my bimmer i change the battery for my bimmer and the radio stop working(i did check all the fuses and everything else as well) so i took my friends and put it in mine and it work perfectly so i just went out and bought an after market radio..

Did someone possibly turn the dash lamp dimmer down? This also controls the radio diplay.:bigpimp:
