Does the aux fan on a 93 325i have an inline diode to check? Im getting 12v at the sensor and jumper wire at sensor gives click at the fuse box but fan will not come on. Any help?

There is a resistor directly on the fan itself that needs to be closed. You can use an ohmmeter to check to be sure it is not electrically open but it requires removing the cover in the very front. You might reach it through the dr side kidney grill. I would also check for power at the plug on the bottom of the aux. fan as well. If you've got 12v there, could be a short in the fan motor. Have you got power at terminals 30 and 86 of your high and low speed relays?

Low side relay plug female side gets 12v at 30 but nothing at 86. High side gets 12v at 3O and 86. I was thinking of splicing a 12v source to low speed wire at the plug to the fan since I get no voltage at the plug either. Whats funny is I get no voltage at all to the fan at the plug. Not low or high side.

Sounds like you've got a break or short in the wires between the temp. switch and the fan plug. I guess it doesn't even come on with the AC? Bentley sais that if you are missing voltage at either of the relay terminals, then trace the wiring back through the harness. I'll scan the wiring diagram and shoot it to you when I get to the office in an hour and a half. Meanwhile, I'd trace my wires. Don't forget to check your fuses.

Thanks E........I get voltage at the sensor(high and low) but when I use a jumper wire the relay clicks but no fan...
