I just purchased my first BMW, a 2000 740il and it has the standard rims and tires on it and it doesn't have the sport package. I want to upgrade to the 18 in. M parallel style rims but know nothing about what size rim I need and what size tire works best. I know I want the 50's in front and the 45's in the rear but that is all I know. I see a lot of info about having the right size so as not to throw off the ABS or Speedo. I also dont under stand the staggering if that is needed or offset. In a nut shell I am looking for the correct size information for tires and wheels so I can put 50's in the front and 45's in the rear. Please help me with this, I really appreciate it.

Stock fitments on a 2000 740 with the sport package:

Wheels: Front 18 x 8.0 & rear 18 x 9.5
you should not need detailed specs if you plan to fit the OE BMW M-parallels

Tires: Front 235/50R-18 and rear 255/45R-18
