Found some rims that were pretty cheap and look like M5/ ZHP style but the seller says the rims have a 47 MM offset. This pushes them to the outside more -correct? I'd actually like that but concerned that with 235/40 tires there might be issues.
47mm is the offset on a number of BMW OE wheels. Should be perfect.
This is, by the way, negative offset: 47mm towards the center of the car. So what you need to push the wheel/tire out is a lower number. So, for instance, I replaced my 325iT's original BMW wheels (that had a 47 offset) with a set of BBS with 40mm offset, thereby bringing the outside of the wheel slightly out.
The E46 M3 gets that "deep dish" look in the rear with a 26mm offset (about 21mm more than the fronts.)
