I am about to buy a 2003 M5 for $47K with 30K on it. Warranty and service still in affect. I am buying from a gent who already bought the 2006 M5. Should I have it looked over by BMW or a local BMW mechanic or does the service warranty cover any and all issues?

Good day. I am selling my first love...my 1997 BMW Dinan modified 540. I am moving on to an M5 and have acquired it.

I am interested in BMW enthusiasts who understand a great car that has been meticulously cared for. The car has new tires, new brakes, has had the 100K major service and runs like it is new.

I have added the front strut bar, carbon fiber cold-air intake and upgraded the software chipset. The car pushes approximately 325 HP and sounds great.

Interior is in excellent shape. 6 disk CD changer, sunroof and all the standard 540 ammenities. Please contact when you can if you have earnest interst in seeing and purchasing the car. I do have a confirmed bid from a friend but he needs 1 month to close the transaction. I was hoping to move faster since I have the M5 already.

Best,

Yes it would be a good idea to get a shop to look it over. But it sounds like you have already bought it. I would have had the P.O. get the car CPO'd but if you have bought it already it is too late.

make sure the previous owner transfered the warranty on your name and you still have time to avail of after market warranty 03' 30k mileage right...or ask for an extended warranty but imho its cheaper to shop for aftermarket warranty...

Good Advice, a loop hole that you do not want to fall into. I would take it to an Independent have them pull codes so you and give you a copy. There will be a charge for this, but it is a good reference to have when you take it to the dealer. You also need to find out the date the Beast goes off warranty. Mileage is low, but depending how it was driven, the old onwer might have used A LOT of the clutch.

Enjoy.
