This may seem a silly question, but I had a very, very bad experience putting an MB E430 on a charger.

Are there any problems w/ putting my wife's '00 2.3 on a charger? She left the lights on and drained the battery.

I think there is the official BMW trickle charger that works well.

Use a product called "Battery Tender" or "Battery Tender Jr." or equivalent Deltran brand products. Or buy the BMW one, which is a Deltran for more money.

I use a Battery Tender Jr. hooked up to the positive terminal under the hood.

do you have it hooked up to the harness, or do you use the aligator clips?

Harness. Really clean that way, I copied Ron. Pigtail stays on car and the wiring can go out the fender well liner.

I would just disconnect one terminal and put it on a charger on low if it has a setting on it. My current charger is automatic and I just leave it on overnight. Make sure the battery has water if possible and clean connections at the same time.
You will need the radio code and to reset your stock windows.

I use the Battery Tender Jr. and love it. I have my pigtail in the trunk.
This way all I have to do is to open the trunk, plug her in and close truck.

Ditto that. I just got some silicone adhesive and glued it to the metal under the trunk floor with the pigtail sticking out Come home, plug it in and forget it :)
