Advise

I'd like to ask you a question, Im planning to buy BMW 5-series from 2002 model, but here im confused because ive got not much idea about the car that i prefer to buy. Theres 530i and 540i, the reason for my confusion is that i like the 540i look because its got sports touch and a body of M5, whereas 530i has the smaller body and is an economical car. The budget to buy the car is not a problem, but ive heard that 530i is a less head-scratching car because it doesnt brings lots of faults and maintaing it is not too expensive, comparing 540i ive heard its a great car and a more luxurious than 530i but the maintainance is a little expensive and it brings out lots of faults.
So i want an advise from you if 540i is good and what ive heard from people is right or wrong, so i cud go for 530i instead.

2002 is getting late into the model year (i.e. mature) so the cars from this time period are pretty solid. The 530i is probably a bit more dependable but the 540i holds up well, too. If possible, have a mechanic look the car(s) over and see if you can get a service history on either car. Those items may help you further make a decision.

Hands down, the 540i will be more fun to drive...the torque of the V8 is intoxicating!
