After 28k miles on the original Dunlop 8080's it's time to get new tires. I am looking at the Proxes 4 all season ultra-high Performance tire. Many good reviews on the web. Anyone have experience with these tires. I am looking for in:

- Spirited performance (at times)
- Long tread life
- Relative quiet
- Nice ride for long trips
- Hot/cold weather performance
- Dry/wet performance
- May get caught in a light snow
- Reasonable price/wear

Wheel/Proxes 4 Specs:
Front: 17x8 ~ 225/45ZR17 94W
Rear: 17x8.5 ~ 245/40ZR17 95W

If I buy by 8/15 I get $75 in gasoline and a Meguiar's car care kit worth about $30. Thanks for your comments.

had them on my Jetta 1.8 and absolutely loved them over the original GY RSAs that came on the car. The GY RSA lasted about 30k before being toast while the proxes went 30k and still had abot 50-40% tread left when I sold the car for my 325xi.

HAd the Xi 2 months and has to put a put on a set of 235/40 proxe 4s all around. They were a nice upgrade over the conisportcontat 205's I had. The 4's are a pretty quiet itre for such an aggressive looking tread. I've found they are usable in the a few inches of snow (at least on the VW) but don't go thinking you've got snows on there.

I never had pure ultra perofrmance summer tires but these Proxe 4s are by far the best performing all season tire I have ever tired. BTW, where are you getting your $75 gas car deal from? My tires cost 680 mtd and balanced for 4 235/40 18s.

I bought some TOYO Proxes 4 & I hated them. The car weaved side to side on the highway. So I called the place I bought them & asked if I could exchange them for some Kumho ASX. They said no problem. The Kumho ASX's are defiantly a better tire & the tread life is twice as long.
