the driver was friendly and he acutally tried to race me lol.... he then slows down for me to take pictures, this "M3" sounds real nice, the note of the exhuasts is not as loud as a expected, while we were "racing", a E60 M5 come and joined the party lol...

Glad to see the fixed the headlights. The E92 coupe got a tacky reflector on the wheel well. :thumbdwn:

Impressive sighting. Double bonus points for having the frame of mind to pilot the Ferrari and snap some pics.

I like that the M3 was being trailed by an M5.

regardless...nice pics...thanks for sharing...but I must say...at it's present state...it doesn't look very intriguing....still...these sightings can change dramatically from the actual production version...

 Cannot wait!
After driving an M3 on the BMWs track yesterday I don't care if it comes out in the next 3 months, I'll trade my lease on my 330i even though I'd only be 6 months into it. I freakin' LOVE the M3. Although, I personally find the interior on the E46 M3 to be horrible. Almost looks like a ricer car on the inside.

Wow...most people I know think it's pretty dang nice...nicer than the E90 for sure.

I'm VERY interested to see the profile on this car. The M Coupe (Z4) got very positive reviews for the sloped roof and the angle they took with the rear window towards the trunk. It is hard to see from the posted pictures but the M3 seems to be sporting something kinda similar in the transition from rear window to trunk and the overall roof bubble.

Werid. I like the interior of my E90 50x more. Maybe I was to busy driving to really notice the interior that much --- I was busy riding the ass of the M5 on the track in front of me. :p But at first glance I didn't like it.

Just wondering, how much better will the new M3 be over the upcoming 335i biturbo?

No one knows. Officially the E92 M3 doesn't even exist.

The 335i biturbo already gives you 5.5s from 0-100km. With the V-10 M5, 0-100km was 4.7s, the new M3 will probably allow you to go from 0-100km in 4.9s or 5.0s. That doesn't seem to be too far off from the 335i biturbo, my 2 cents.

I like it as well....I look at the woodgrain crap in my mother's SL and cringe...It gives me a Oldsmobile feeling...at least the accelerator doesn't..;)

Let's not forget where the m5 came from and what the idea behind it was, i had a long conversation with the head DINAN Installer for SW Florida this weekend we were first talking about my car then my buddys M5, i asked him about the new M3 he said from whats he has herd it will be almost as fast as the m5 if not the same......that makes sence for considering the last m3 and m5.....

I've seen that car a few times on the 405. The first time I saw it, I took pics with my Sidekick and after he saw me he pulled away and exited, hehe.
The car looks great in those pics, but no doubt the price will be jacked up once it is officially released.

I saw that car on the 101 west bound twice, but I didn't have a camera in my phone... I told my wife that it was for sure the new M3...:D

That's quite possible since this significant weight-difference might already close the biggest part of the "power-gap" between those cars...

That doesn't look like an M3. It looks like a 335i coupe with the old E46 M3 exhaust bolted on.
If they (BMW) haven't released a single picture of the new M3 yet, why would they be driving it around one of the most populated areas in the world without even a shred of disguise on it?
Come on, think about it.

Come on, take a look at the posted videos of the same car, listen to it, and tell US that sounds like an I6. They have to test the damned thing before they can sell it...happens all the time.
