Alright - I have read more on here than I care to admit and I am STILL confused on somethings. I don't really want to take all of ya'lls time to get them answered if there were some good resources online that could answer my questions. Are there some places/resources that you would suggest me to go for answers for questions such as:

>What is "offset" mean? How do I determine it? Does "offset" mean I have to "pimp" my car to get a wheel to fit?
>What does "staggered" mean?
>Do some wheels/tires NOT require any mods to get them to fit?
>How do you figure the appropraite size of tire for your car?
>How do you figure the appropriate wheel size for you car and once you have THAT, how do you know what tire to get?
...(See - I TOLD you I was way behind!)
>Does weight of the wheel make a big difference for NON-racing uses?
>Does quality make a huge difference for wheels in NON-racing instances? (i.e. $125 wheel v. $400 wheel - they might be lighter, but why else is it that much more?)
>Where can you do to get a good idea of how things will look (different size wheels and diff types of tires) on you car? (I have looked at TireRack's site and that has helped with this portion a bunch!)
>Is there a market for my USED wheels and if so - what could I get for them?

I will tell you I have a stock 1998 328i (I guess 15" wheels) and will be needing new tires soon and would like to "upgrade" to larger wheels/tires and thought I would do both at the same time.

Please do not feel obligated to answer all of these if there is a resource that can handle alot of these things for me. Also, please know that I have looked through these forums and found alot of VERY specific info, but not broader info like what I am needing here.

Thanks in advance for your insite!

PS - any suggestions for 5 spoke and/or double spoke (I guess that is what they are called) would be helpful.

Here are some answers and links to get you started. You may also want to search the archives since much of this information has been covered in great detail in previous threads.

>Offset : http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=101

>Staggering : a wider rear tire

>Most wheels should not require any modification in order to fit.

>Our site will recommend the correct size automatically : http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AB2&url=/wheels/index.jsp

>Its the other way around, 1st you choose a wheel, then the tire size will be selected based on that.

>Although the weight issue is debatable, my experience is that small differences in weight have nearly no effect on street driving.

>Quality can make a difference in strength and finish quality, but quality is not always directly related to wheel price.
