can someone with expertise please help me with the purchase of some new tires? I've read the reviews, but I'm still at a loss and for some of the tires, I can't find any information. Now that might be telling me something, but it may just be my internet skills. My tire size is 225/60/15. Ok, so one tire shop tried to sell me some remington tires (this is the one that I can't find any comparison info on), claiming that they were better than the other three tires- $320 (for 4 and installed). Another tire store recommends thai i get the falken ($290) or Nitto ($283). And both tire stores have to special order the michelins ($550). Apparently they are all high performance. Now, there is a serious price difference, and I may be willing to pay, if it makes sense. I do drive fast, but not racing anyone. I'm going about 70-85 on the freeway. I would like to have the tire as long as possible. Anyway, this is getting to be a long email, so I'll cut it here by saying that I appreciate any guidance. Oh last thing, I live in sunny california, so no snow and it only rains so often.

Now, I've gotten a couple of responses referring me to Tirerack and believe me I've gone there. Unfortunately, I can't find anything on any of the other tires except michelin.

Again, I appreciate whatever guidance I can get.
Thanks

Kumho Touring Plus 732 or Kumho ECSTA KH11
I have Kumho ASX on my 330ci & they are the best I have had yet.

Do yourself a favor. When looking at the all the tires brands, look at the "weight" of them as well.

For example, A Bridgstone run flat tires (19") weighs about 25 lbs. However, an equivalent Bridgestone tire that is not a runflat still weighs about 25lbs.

The Goodyear xxxx F1 tire weighs over 28lbs.

Now look at the same size tire in Michelin, Kumho, Continental, etc. The tire weights (non run flats) are around 20 lbs.

I have always been partial to Michelin. So look at what you have and what you are changing to. You will notice a difference if the wieght increases significantly over what you currently have.
