does a aftermaket nav disc work like the bmx disc or i will have problem

can any body help me i just broght a 1999 528i wagon and the disc in the nav is a fake one not from bmw i cant see the side streets just major highways and so blocks dont come up when i put an a address hlep me please any one

Sounds like you do not have the disk that covers your local region.
