Hello all:

I have a 2000 323 with tan interior. Over the years the left and right plasic door sills have gotten their share of shoe scuff marks. I have tried several cleaners (even mineral spirits) to try and clean them. Any ideas short of repplacing them?

Thanks

Doug

I have the same interior, and it gets scuff marks easily. I use Meguiar's #40 Vinyl and Rubber cleaner, which rubs them right off.

If you are talking about scuffs from shoes that's rubber for the most part...Goo Gone will take that off its what I use on my details for customers....Use this on a rag and wipe the area, then use some all purpose cleaner to clean up that area

The Goo Gone will dissolve the rubber

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!! I also have the "sand" interior. Nothing worked to get scuff marks off. I picked up a generic Magic Eraser at the Dollar Store- 2 for $1.00- and it took off all the black marks completely. Just don't rub TOOOO hard.

Well I bought the Mr Clean Magic Eraser and I am totally blown away by how great this works. The interior of my car looks brand new. I don't know exactly how the Magic Eraser works, but it is magic.

Thanks for the great tip.

I use Permatex Fast Orange hand cleaner with pumice. Just put a dab on a rag and it will rub the scuff marks right off. Wipe the residue off with a damp towel afterwards. Works great.

P21S total auto wash works, then apply 303 aerospace protectant arter it's clean.

Goo Gone on the sill; Simple Green to remove residual GG and to clean lighter stuff on the bottom of the door . 303 protectant to finish.

303 is also GREAT on the dash. It has cut out gassing haze on the windshield by 80-90% when used regularly. You should also read their info about silcone and tires and why they don't use it in their products.

See what I mean by VERY VERY lightly! I've removed a bit of paint with it before. I can't stress how light you have to be with this, But it works awesome on a sand interior like mine. I've also found that Griot's interior cleaner works really well.
