View Full Version : $10 DIY Homelink
Just some parts from radio shack and hacked up my old remote. The LED is a lot brighter than the flash makes it out to be.

Would you be kind enough to post some instructions for those (like me) that don't have electrical knowledge?
Thanks

Seems pretty logical to me: he simply took his garage door remote and modified it (mostly mechanical work) to fit into the overhead panel space. The electronic design work was pretty minimal near as I can tell.
Exactly, pretty straight forward. But every install will be a little different because every remote is different, you'll just have to find the trigger contacts on yours and wire them to a switch. The LED is optional, just make sure the voltage is similar to the voltage of your battery and find some switched contacts.
