97 bmw 328i cd player help!

i just got a 97 bmw 328i last week&for the love of god i cannot find the ****ing cd player!!! i know it*s in the trunk&i popped cd*s in there but i can*t access it from the dash. there is no "cd" button. i*ve tried "prog" & "band"&every single button on the motha****ing dash but nothing works!!! i feel like i*m going crazy. &when i tell people about it, they laugh! but then they try&can*t find it either. so i*m going nuts, help me out please! :thumbdwn:

Hey Kristi if its working you should hit the TAPE/RADIO button and it should say CD. If not then its not working. :bigpimp:

weird... u said u already tried pressing band?

yeahhh! the band&prog button switch from FM to FMII or from FM to AM.
could it be possible that i need to switch to a certain radio station?

I have the same car. That's not the same radio though, it might be an older model radio.

no it shouldnt be that way.. did u just get this car? or have u had another head unit in there before?

yeah i just got it like 2 weeks ago. can you imagine going two weeks without a cd player?!?!? yeah i bought the car used but it was from a dealer?

maybe the previews owner changed the head unit and put the stock one back on when he was ready to sell it and didnt connect the cd player?

It looks like someone substituted the older radio type that isnt compatible with the CD player. The newer type radios, called a C33, can be had for not too much on Ebay. Any other opinions?? :dunno:

my cousin told me that if you buy a stereo from circuit city they*ll install it for free. will they be able to do it in a bmw or would i have to take it to a specialty shop? or do you think my cousin could possibly do it? he knows how to install stereos&stuff but usually in hondas&such so it*s easy.

i wouldnt use the cd changer cuz i hate going to the trunk but just get a head unit with cd player which now days almost all of them have it and its not that hard to installso he could prob do it is the same in any car, thats if they charge u to install if not have themdo it for u
