325i Conv Engine Is Surging

I Was Driving My 325i Conv. And Stop At Stop Sign And The Engine Started Surging And Cut Off And Wouldn't Start. About 1/2 Hour Later The Car Started Idle High And Low. The Car Only Runs Find If I Step On The Gas. Also While Driving The Car If I'm Not Stepping On The Gas The Engine Light Comes On And Off and engine wants to cut off.

I Can Now Start The Car But It Doesn't Quiet Sound Right. Any Suggestions

sounds like the TPS is bad.
Only a TPS would have kind of direct connection to the ECU
Or the MAF
