Hello,

After I dealt with the...maybe 5th cluster I finally found a decent SI board for my eta. The problem with the tach is it doesn't work right, so I took a tach unit out of a 325i/318i cluster.

Swapped out the gauge face. Now, I have to ask, how the frick am I supposed to align the needle to where it belongs? If I align it so the needle is pointing at 0 when it's off, it shows that it's idling at 500 or so. I know it idles around 750. And cruising in 5th at 65mph is 2000k RPM, I know that. It shows it's reving around 1500. Redline suddenly becomes 3500 or so.

Help.

Why didn't you swap a eta tach into it? Obviously you are not afraid to get into the cluster, put the right tach into it. Lord has had some good experiance with swapping parts between different clusters.

Because I don't have one.

Here's what I thought: The signal to the tach can get messed with via the SI board, so I guess the SI board is part of the tach deal.

Well, I guess it isn't. I'll simply swap the right gauge face back in there and remind myself it doesn't rev to 6k, and wait until I get a good steal on a eta one.
