New Member here. I live Downtown Chicaago and am in the process of fixing up my 87' 325Isa so I can drive it again.

Looking for a Rear Bumper as my neighbours have not been kind to it. Any advice on where I can go in the City to find a good Body Shop?

They didnt make that model that year, What does the doorsill say?
You will probably have better luck ordering one yourself. The body shop marks up the price for you as soon as it gets there.
And if its an 87, I have a diving board.

The doorsill says 325 isA-2 and my owners manual says 325 isa as well. Does the A-2 mean something diffrent?

What is a Diving Board?

I have had the car for 6 years it has 137K miles and am the 3rd owner.

the doorsill doesnt say a yr on it or your registration. by diving board he means the metal bumper style

The door sill top line says 325is A-2 01/87.

How much can I fnd a Diving Board for? My poor rear bumper has been beaten up by Downtown Parking.

Any info would be appreciated.

im Confused, If its an 87 The rear bumper is Aluminum. I can sell you The one off of my cabbie because i wont need it.
This site is very helpful. It also shows the bumper types.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_E30
However, If its an A-2 does that mean there are euro bumpers? Id like to get more background on the car.
Theres a guy that does VIN decoding on R3Vlimited.com

Wow, Guys i just overthought the hell out of that.
My cabrio has 325i/a cabrio

And yours is a 2 door 325IS. Hence the a-2

pardon my temporary lapse in intelligence. Its too early :D

Edit... I worked, cool little service.

My memory stick on the Camera is on the fritz otherwise I would.

Love the car and looking to fix it up. It is the only one in my neighborhood I have seen, there seem to be quite a few E30's in the few blocks around my place.

E30 Engine M20 B25

Like the pep for the City. Previous owner said he made some Mod's to the engine, as I am not a Gear Head I can't remember what he did. What i do know is I hit 125 and did not red line. How fast can these cars go?

with the right Modifications they have been known to glide to 140. Thats with a chip and with a very good braking system.

You can drill the shocks, Take the trim off and back into a sturdy painted concrete wall. Theres a writeup on strictlyeta.com
