We are in the market for a new car. I really dislike the 2002 styling revisions and would much prefer to purchase a 2001 325i/330i, if we go BMW. Generally speaking, are 2001s still sitting on dealer lots or are older inventory pretty much gone? Thanks in advance.
Depends on where you live.
I live in a pretty high-volume sales area, and there are still a handful of 01s left. There are also a number of 1 and 2 year old used ones turning up as well.

I saw a red 2001 330i on the showroom today at BMW of San Diego while I was waiting to get my car programmed. Now the clown nose blinks w/o an alarm :thumb:

I'd suggest you start shopping ASAP. If you can manage to establish a good relationship with 1 dealer, they may be willing to look at all vehicles available in inventory at all regional dealers as well.
Here in New England there are a few...I mean a few '01's left. Most are on the lots of lower volume dealers. I am sure that if you went to a higher volume dealer they could get one of these cars for you. However, don't count on getting the car of your dreams...all colors, options etc are not available.

There was some left on the lot at a local dealer here during the last week of December. When I talked to a salesperson I was told to make them an offer! How rare is that!
14 available at one of my local dealers!

My dealer has a few demos left over.

If you are in So Cal I would recomend talking to Jon Shafer at Cutter in Santa Barbara
If you are in Orange County and don't want to do to Santa Barbara I know one of the sales managers at Irvine. He's a good guy and will treat you right. Just watch out for the rest of the sales people there!
