View Full Version : Dinan Tranny Software

Just picked up my 4.4i. I traded a virtually identical 2001 model. I wanted the adjustable level suspension, all black interior and sport seats. I bought the VS Paddle retrofit kit from Vince. I'll install it when the M3 comes in. Has anyone installed Dinan's transmission software upgrade in an X5? Do the labor units they quote mean hours? If you did do it, how did the upgrade go? Thanks.

Hey what color is you ride? Well congrats!!! as far as the dinan tranny goes I know this one guy on SWAPALEASE.COM who has installed a chip on his tranny. I think it might be same one you are talking about. I talked to him before I leased my X5. I was planning on swaping lease with the guy. He had told me that it is a major improvement on the performance but his tires has to be replaced very often.

It's Topaz Blue. Truly awesome color in the sun. I like the Black Sapphire as well, but the 99 M3 was Cosmos(died in a rollover in Oct., nobody hurt) and the '03 M3 is Carbon Black, so we tried to show a little imagination. Vince answered me privately about the Dinan software upgrades, but thanks for the tip. I'll check into it. I called the only Dinan shop in NJ, they don't add on for labor for the software upgrade. They said it takes 10-15 minutes. They Just charge the price quoted on their website for the software. Sounds pretty painless, plus your warranty stays in tact. You'll be glad you got the X5. If you have sport tires and live in cold climate, look into snows. These wheels are replica 17"ers with the snows. My dealership mounted and balanced them free even though I bought them elsewhere. Can't wait for the spring to put the 19"ers back on. They are real head turners. I got tons of compliments on my 2001 model, so I went with them again.
