I'm doing ED on a 530i and the dealer is giving me the applicable buy rate of .0016.
There's talk about a .0003 "adder" on ED cars in exchange for waiving one of the payments. Is that waiver at the customer's option, or is it mandatory?
Additionally, do MSDs work the same when the rate is this low? That is, is the money factor reduced .00007 for each additional security deposit even when the buy rate is only .0016?
Thank you,
Robert

The .0003 "adder" is correct on ED and is mandatory as an in lieu of 2nd payment. No way getting around this besides MSD.
As for your MSD, I unfortunately never ran into this problem so I will let one of the experts chime in.

And yes, MSD's can be applied to ED leases even with the rate that low. The rate would be reduced a maximum of .00049 for 7 security deposits. Thus, .00160 - .00049 = .00111 + .0003 ED rate adder = .00141.

Is the MSD dollar amount (rounded up to the nearest $50) based on your monthly payment including sales tax or before sales tax?
