320i fuel leak?

hello,

my 1992 e36 320i appeared to have poor fuel economy but i now think its a fuel leak. the gauge goes down loads when i go round corners or over bumps???? it sounds strange but has anyone else come across a similar problem?

also i've got a flat-spot at around 2000-3000rpm?

any suggestions would be appreciated?
