Continental tires are good. Michelin,Goodyear, Dunlop are all good name brand tires. What size tires are you looking for?

look into tirerack man. Since youre in texas, ( what I gather ) you dont have to worry about all season tires really. they got a bunch of reviews and such on basically all brands of tires.

I just got a set of Michelins PILOT SPORT A/S 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rear. They are AWESOME. They stick to the ground like glue! I got them at COSTCO for almost $800 total. Pricey but worth every penny!

Good luck!

Just got a set of Michelin PS2s in the same size as you mentioned, though I drive a E39.
Very smooth riding and great stick. You don't notice how fast you're taking that on-ramp because there's so little drama, then you look down at the speedo and WOW!
Pricey but recommended.

Bridgestone Potenza RE O1's - Check out the reviews & rankings on tire rack. I hang out with a Ferrari crowd. Since I've installed the Potenza's I can actually hang with'em on the winding roads of the Blueridge Mountains......I highly recommend (I liked thhem so much I got a set for my X5 & my wifes LS V8.

Johhny:
I have 3 sets of rims and tires. A 15 beater set that are quiet and soft riding.
My Michelin Sports 235/40/17 are very nice tires, fairly quiet ride and not too stiff. My last set is a set of Toyo Proxies4 which are every bit as good as the Michelins but these are 235/45/17 which makes your optomistic speedometer within 1 mph accurate over the normal speed range. Proxies are not as quiet as the Michelins and have more stiffness then the Michelins but will most likely outwear the Michelins because they have a 400 rating on tread wear and I think my Michelin Sports are like 200.
If you want an accurate speedo consider the 235/45/17's, they fit and your speedo is not 5 mph optomistic as mine is with my beater set and my Michelins...

Toyo T1R's are great. I have been using Toyo T1S before.

I had Kumho Escadas on my 328...good tire for the price ~$125 a pop. If you're on a budget, you can't beat 'em...though all the tires mentioned are better if you have the money.

When your in the twisties speed & horsepower are only part of the picture. Get a good driver behind a sound 328 (chipped, CAI, exhaust, tires, strut bar, etc) and you can keep up with about anything. In addition to the Ferraris, there is a '06 M5 and a Carrera in the mix. The M5 smokes em all.

Was only winding you up mate
My mates have cars with 300+BHP and i leave them for dust on the racetracks. agree 100% with you that it is all about the driver in those situations!
