right now i drive a honda accord that is slowly starting to get more and more on my nerves. mechanically she's good but there's alot of things that i need to fix supension/exterior/interior wise and since i've always wanted a bmw i'm thinking about selling her here in the next 2 months. right now i can get about 3,500 if i sell it and am hoping to get 4 after i replace my pads, rotors, and suspension. after that i hope to have my money from my birthday and xmas saved up along w/ money from work so i'm looking at 325's. i've found a few '92s which is the year i'm thinking about getting cause there's not much else in my price range. but i'm jw about anyone else with 92 or around that year 325's what problems you've run into, how many miles i should look for at max, and any other things i might want to look into. heh sorry for being so 'noob' as it were. :p

 Welcome to the 'fest!
I don't know much about E36s but you are posting in the right forum so hopefully the knowledgable folks will be along to help you out...
Had many Accords (4) in the past and indeed there are many similarities with Bimmers.
Do some searches on the site and in this forum for issues and you will likely find discussions ongoing on maintenance, what to look for, problem areas, etc. Bimmerfest has a wealth of information, along with some very nice folks to help you on the way.
Again, welcome!

Honestly, chances are you will have the same number of maintenance issues, electrical problems, etc. with an e36. But, the difference is that you will LOVE driving it so much more, especially if you opt for the stick. On the plus side, there is a bevy of resources for parts and aftermarket products for this line of Beamers. Ebay has a wealth of great replacement parts on the cheap. Always be careful, but I've not been disappointed with the used parts that I got on ebay when necessary. Do it; you'll be happy you did.

I remember when I had my 88 LXI, I thought that was fast and sporty, but boy does my bimmer blow that thing away. If your looking at an E36 just ask how long it's been since the coolant system has been updated or replaced. You don't want a car that has the original water pump with the plastic impellars (not many around but could happen) and especially don't want one with the original radiator. Usually the entire cooling system needs to be replaced every 60-75k miles but you can get good deals on parts. Welcome to the 'Fest!!
