Ok, my car has finally arrived and I feel the urgency to polish and detail. I am not sure which polisher to go with - Porter Cable 7424 or 7336. They are supposedly very similar - only difference being the counterweight., but I've noticed that the 7424 seems to cost a little more. Any advice that anyone can share? Also need recommendations on the minimum number and types of pads I need as well as other supplies I will need. Thanks.

The only difference is the 7336 comes with an extra polishing pad and sanding plate with some sample sandpaper. The 7424 comes with just a polishing pad. They both are $109 with tax at Lowes.

As far as the pads, if the car is new you wont need any aggresive/cutting pads for oxidation and swirls. Probably just a mild and fine polishing pad.
