Hi All,
Just wondering how to replace gear shift knob for an automatic E39,any ifo would be much appreciated:D

Pull straight up. Really hard.
Tips:
Put in neutral.
Press button.
Pull straight up.
Other tips:
Open sunroof.
Wear socks and put feet on seats.
(Not always a good idea to put pressure on seats like that if you have ass-hot option.)
(Heated seats.)
Chances are very good that you will hit youself in the nose or crotch... be careful!
Someone said a pry bar works. Put a block of wood and rag on the center arm rest to protect it. Use the pointed end under the knob. I have not tried that, though.

:rofl: i'd pay money to see someone wearing a football helmet, and a cup over their shorts trying to pull this knob off
