Hi All - thought I'd get this thread started :)
I have an initial commitment from the manager of Sigalsport that they will have their BMW/Dinan powered Daytona Prototype car (and some drivers) at Bimmerfest.

Goes without saying, that unless our car is racing somewhere that weekend, it will be there as well

Good...there was a lot more "bling" than performance last year. I'd like to see more of what you've got to offer

Scott was responsible for the incredible showing of race teams at Bimmerfest 2005. Unfortunately, and scheduling conflict prevented that from happening this year...
We had the Turner Motorsports team with Bill Auberlen himself signing autographed posters...
Not to mention the Finlay Daytona Prototype, cars from TC Kline, Automatic Racing and others...

^ Yeah I remember seeing those pics before I went to this year's fest. Hopefully they will return for '07

A couple of big :thumbup: to Scott. I am clearly not alone in hoping you can work some magic for this coming year.

I need someone to sponsor me on a trip to Daytona for the season opener in the GAC/Rolex series.
There are so many newer BMW teams now, but I just don't know them. But if I went and met them, I bet I could have quite a few of them at the 'fest. Just no real opportunities out here prior to the fest. If I have time, maybe I can contact some by phone once I see who is racing at Daytona. :dunno:
The GAC Schedule prior to Bimmerfest '07:
January 26 Daytona International Speedway - Daytona Beach, Fla.
April 15 Homestead-Miami Speedway - Homestead, Fla.
April 21 Iowa Speedway - Newton, Iowa

We will be bringing our E36M3 IP car and the Hartge powered E30 track car to the event next year. Not as hot as the prototype or the Turner car but it will be cool nonetheless.

I look forward to seeing them Walter!

There are quite a few modded M's out there, and I'm wondering if there is any interest in having the M cars lined up near the race cars. Is parking at the event "sorted"? Who has the sorting hat?

Is parking at the event "sorted"?
In the order of arrival, mostly.

Hehe, you just described about half of the cars in attendance at Bimmerfest. :D What some people do is arrive in small groups and park together. Maybe Jon has some plans for a few paddocks of certain model cars.

:)Might be a vendor's car. The vendors bring in anything they want to show off their products.

And if I recall correctly, there was at least one Porsche and maybe a Benz in the vendor area. Sure can't see 'em in the above pano though. The only cars that were grouped last year were the classics - generally E28's and earlier.

The SigalSport Daytona Prototype was actually leading the 24 Hours of Daytona at the end of Bill Auberlen's first stint.
I confirmed we are still on the team's schedule.

I am going to try to get my friends with their E36 race car there. The Poulins came two years ago but were racing last year :(

My car isn't a full race car...it's only seen the track once but it sure looks like one...I don't know if it would fully classify as one but it would be nice to see an e30 ///m3 in the mix...
heres a small clip of my car recently on the dyno doing a 1/4 mile...I wasn't there so I don't know the time...enjoy

Scott has done so much over the past few years to get bimmerfest recognized in the racing world. He has done so without much fanfare or recognition. Thanks Scott for all you have done. Kudos dude.

Thanks - glad I can do something to help make Bimmerfest the best BMW gathering on the planet. There's a little bit of work involved, but it comes with a pretty high 'fun factor' :)

That was truly a spectacular year as far as having pro race team involvement - it may take a while before I'm able to top that one again.
