First of all, I am not sure if it is true
Today while I sent some faxes to some dealers in FL inquiring about the 335 ED. One salesman from Tallahassee responded to me, and we were talking about M3. He mentioned that his sources in Munich have revealed to him that they are working in two new M3s.
A M3 V6 based on the 335 with 365CV and the well known V8 with 430 CV.
I know it sound weird, but not sure if anybody has heard something similar

 I am sure the V6 will be a screamer. The M3 will have one V8 engine. The M coupe will use the I6. The M3 will not be offered with multiple power plants.

BMW M could be testing different versions but only one version will be labelled as ///M3 for you to buy.

I would presume that the "V6" version he was talking about is really the Performance Package for the E90/E92.

I've heard that they're going to call one the M2-and-three-fourths, and the other one the M3-and-three-sixteenths.
