I am planning to order the new 2007 X5 3.0 and I am wondering if anyone can tell me if the quoted price for a 3.0 which is $1300 higher than the Invoice based in Kbb.com is reasonable.

Options:
Premium Package
Technology Package
Sports Package
Entertainment (DVD)
3rd Row Seat

The Invoice price is $55, 345 while MSRP is $60,245. The dealer is asking $56,645, NJ Tax - $3965.15, MV + Doc - $467, Luxury Supp Tax Title - 226.58. The total is $61,303.73.

Are the charges reasonable? Please advise!!!

Thanks,

Radel

geez for that much I think I would see if couldn't go ahead and bump up to the 4.8 you will get more standard equipment and the gas mileage is about the same so fuel cost will be equal. I bet for 5k more you could upgrade to the 4.8.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Don't know about that MV+doc, though. Not sure what that is.
You should double check the invoice prices a couple of posts up, or click on http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168701. Make sure you use the wholesale price page, not retail.

Thanks Tom.

Now that I decided to order the X5, the dealer is saying that delivery will be mid January. I really need to get it by year end for business tax reason. Does anybody know how long to order this new X5? If you place your order, did you get get a VIN or prod number? Do you know anybody who will get it by Nov/Dec?
Please respond. I am very curious to know... Thanks a lot GUYS!!!

I had a sneaky feeling that this was for a January X5. I'm not sure they can even deliver a January X5. Allocations are ultra scarce, so I'm surprised by the low number.

I wouldn't expect those kinds of numbers on any 2007 X5's delivered by the end of the year. All orders are locked in and non-modifiable right now. So you'll have to do alot of looking around for any available X5's spec'd close to the way you want it.

Also, you'll be hard pressed to find any available sport package equipped X5's since the factory was taking out sport packages on orders that weren't sold. Pm me for details.

Now that I agreed to a mid January delivery, my salesman (Adrian @ JMK BMW) faxed me a Retail Order at MSRP without telling me. It's good that I checked the docs before I can sign and faxed it. When I questioned the numbers, he said "he may have missed some options on his calc and added that he can only sell the car at MSRP". Funny thing is, I forwarded him his previous email showing his calcs with all the options I liked and I even asked him several times about it.

I guess it is really hard to trust a car salesman although I honestly think that there lots of honest car salemen around but this one is NOT. What a sleazy way to earn a living!!!!!! Lie to your teeth and try to be sneaky with your numbers hoping the customer will not see it!!!

I knew that $1,300 over invoice was too good to be true. What a lyin' bastage, that other Adrian. :p

:stupid:

I can't think of any reason to start discounting 07 X5s right now...especially when 06s are still relatively plentiful. If you can get anything below MSRP, I would say that's a great deal.

Well, I finally ordered one and was able to get 1380 off MSRP. I have to call a friend who is a Comptroller in one of the biggest dealership in NYC. He was able to pull some strings. I will be getting my 2007 X5 before the end of the year. That is by far the best possible I can get and I got the deal from a BMW dealership in Iowa.

I put a deposit down in July and spec'd out final design two months ago with my dealership in CT for the 2007 3.0l X5 --fully loaded with all the bells&whistles

I was told I wont get delivery till March or April! This is unacceptabe!--the salesman says only 6 X5's have been issued production numbers for his dealership and that I am number 15 in line.

Does this sound real? Is there a dealership out there that can get me the X5 by Jan?
This is my fifth BMW in 12 years and I have never heard of such a protracted order process from BMW before

Any help appreciated folks..Thanks!

PS I did get $1000 off MSRP

I was able to get 5% off from the MSRP for 2007 X5 yesterday. No promise, but possible arrival time would be right after the Christmas. They said that some orders are still modifiable so ...
Will let you know later....

Condor,

You may contact Phil Dobkin @ DVH Essex BMW in Bloomfield. Here is the number -973-748-8200 x 32. He offered me 1000 below MSRP when I asked for a quote. He seems to be a reasonable guy to talk to based on my previous conversation with him. Or if you want I can refer you to my salesperson from Des Moine, Iowa. HE may give you the same deal I got.

Good luck.

Based on my experience, it is very hard to get anything lower than 1000 off MSRP from the 07 X5. The lowest quote I got here in NJ/NY/CT area is 1000 off MSRP.

Hey Moontoosoon:

Wow 5% off from the MSRP
What model and options did you order to get the 5% discount?
What did that equate to in real dollars discount (savings) please ??

It was 2007 X5 3.0 and options are:

Heated rear seats
3rd row seat
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Rear Climate Package
Technology Package

The 5% of the total $56,995 MSRP was $2,849.

The dealer is in NH.

Has anyone place an order (07) and been able to track it?

I was told that my order will be processed on the 49th week (Dec. 3rd). I am hoping to get the VIN by that time so I can track it down.
