Don't assume that I received your emails or PM's.
Won't be posting here much until I get a new machine which may take awhile.

Ron, I see one of these puppies in your future:

Oh no...it's far from the dark side. It's one of the best decisions I ever made.

I'm with Ben. It's more like "come to the light...". And I do this stuff for a living.

We have to keep in mind that Ron would go nuts w/o ETK and TIS. I've never used Windows emulation on an Apple machine. I run a headless 2U machine in the rack in the basement for Windows, just so I can run the ETK and TIS. Plus Ron now has AutoEnginuity, but I suspect that's on his laptop separate from his desktop machine.
The Mac Mini is a very nice machine if you don't do CPU-intensive things. Of course I love my Apple laptops, but they won't run AutoEnginuity (I'm writing my own software for OBD-II, and yes it'll run on my Powerbook under OS X but that's not the primary target).
Ron, if you need help troubleshooting or replacing parts, you know where to reach me. I'm mostly Windows-clueless, but I'm fine troubleshooting hardware (11 x86-based machines at home, most of them built from scratch, but only one of them running Windows).

Desktop failed long ago. Using it now but not easy to get it going.
Lap top failed tonight.

Ah, bummer.

Let me know if I can help in anyway. I do this for a living and I am not too far from you. It's the least I can do to repay for all the help you've given over my years of bimmer ownership.

I'll echo both parts of that statement.

At the most invasive end of things, boot camp and a dual boot system would solve that problem. I have yet to upgrade to an Intel based Mac (waiting on CS3) but from what I understand Windows emulators offer more sparkling performance than Virtual PC did on the Powerpc machines. I see VMWare has an OSX product under development, but I believe there are people on this site using other, currently available emulators with some success.

No love for the PC, eh? Until the software base can come close to comparing, I'll stick with a PC. Here's my work rig, courtesy of my Treo's amazing camera.

Ron, if there is anything I can help you with on the computer, let me know. I have hardware coming out of my ears, and a fairly nice notebook taking up space in my closet.

I'd like to echo the above sentiment.
Since I'm not geographically close enough to personally help you through this, I'm more than willing to contribute some Paypal money to help get your computer replaced, provide a backup system, whatever. I feel like it's the least I can do.
I know you don't necessarily need financial support, and this thought process isn't about that. I guess my offer is really about all of the help and information you gladly provide to just about anyone who asks. We are lucky to have you.
So, what kind of computer or other stuff do you need to get back to being better than 100%?

I run a PC and a Mac, side by side with one mouse and keyboard using the free and open source program named Synergy2.
If I want Windows programs, its on the right, Mac is on the left. Just move the mouse across the screens. Its like dual monitors, but with two separate operating systems.
I provide web development services, so its nice to have the Mac to develop on, and the PC to "see what the customers see".
