My 1996 radio/tape deck is asking for CODE _ _ _ _ ,that I don't have what so ever. I don't have the manuel. This started because I replaced the battery...What can I do to get my setero to work?:dunno: \

You need to get the code.. look around the car carefully, as you might be able to find the card it is written on...

If this doesn't work.. time for a trip to the dealer...

just go to any BMW dealership with serial # of your stereo.
s/n located on the back of your stereo. also bring your driver licence and title for the car.
they get you code in a few minutes. and its free.
I dont know about you but i have replaced factory radio and amplifier on next day i got my car. i got in dash dvd and its sounds and looks a lot better than stock radio.
but its up to you.

it is free. i have done once on my 325. and on my sisters acura once, both times were free. so go for it. and think about replacing stock radio with some cool in dash systems.
