Ok... just got my e36 325i coupe 1995 German made.

Could someone help me a little bit with the speakers I should use? The originals are 5", and I´m thinking on trying to adapt some 6".

Is it possible? Or should I stick with the 5"?

And in the rear? Are the originals 5" too? Will the 6" fit?

My CD-Player is a Pioneer 9400MP. I will plug them directly on the player. I really dont want to spend money on sound right now. I rather do some engine mods to start playing drift! ehehhe.

Thanks everyone. Im from Brasil and this forum is really the best on the net!
I hope to have a lot of fun posting and exchanging ideas with you guys.

Are you running Harmon Kardon set-up?
changes your speaker set-up if you are.
If not Harmon Kardon your best bet is:
Eclipse Seperates with X-over.

These will run you around $300-500 but they will take a beating and sound sooo much better than the stock BMW speakers.
SC8254 or SC8355 if you have Harmon Kardon.
The 6" won't fit your stock set-up..you'll have spend $$ to get them custom fitted.

The rears are:
5 1/4 or if Harmon they are 6x9 with 1" tweeter on top.
DON'T let anyone tell you otherwise....6.5 won't fit but either: 6x9 or Seperates in the rears will work.

if you need bass get this:
Alpine PLT-5
this is a powered sub that replicates two 10's in a package that is half the size and sound like two 12's!!
Plus seperate base control makes you trunk shake like a pro at a sound-off! you'll go deaf with the amount of sound out of this set-up.

Get the speakers! it sucks drifting when your speakers keep snap, crackling and popping!

Hey mrbadde! Thanks a lot for the Help. My Bimmer has not the Harmon Kardon set-up, so I will follow your advice and stick with the 5 on the front doors. For the rear I will see in my sound shop to think if ill go with the 6x9.

I***180;m really thinking on getting a 10" sub for the "second" stage of the sound, just to get a little bit more bass. I would love to look for those Alpine wich I really love, but here in brasil Alpines don***180;t come oficcially, so theyer price is imposible to buy. Just like this: A pair of 5" cost nothing less than R$1.200 that is US$600... amazing how taxation sucks eh? hehehe. While this a pair of officially imported Sony X-plods (wich sucks) are about US$90.

I really miss to travel to US every year as I always did... eheheh

Thanks a lot! I will look for some good 5" for me!!

Regards!
