srs light on 1993 325i

can anyone tell me how to get rid of this light. or how to disconnect the srs completely

go to the stealer or a shop that works on these cars. you need the srs reset tool

Just remember that your SRS light is there for a reason. Do get it checked though. They can be a bit fiddly and may go off if you remove a seat for instance. Your local dealer will be able to reset.

Be sure and ask what the problem was, though. My srs light comes on all the time, and reappears about 3 weeks after the dealer resets it. I was told that there is no communication with the air bag during diagnostics, and while the dealer can reset it, and the light goes off, there is still a problem. In other words, merely resetting the srs light itself does not in any way guarantee that the thing is going to work in an accident. Seeing the light off may give piece of mind, but that's about it. The dealer told me that my air bag "probably" would NOT function. I've been hesitant about looking into it further, since I was told it would be costly.

There are 2 sensors under the hood that are orange are these related at all to the srs?
A buddy of mine unplugged one of them and now my light is on. Sorry for jumping into the thread.
