does anyone know what pcv valve stands for and what does it do? thanks:dunno:

it stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation valave....basically and unburned gas that gets by ur rings and into the crankcase gets put back into the manifold to be burned

great thank you, bc my engine shakes when cold start up and i smell gas out of my exhaust someone mentioned it could be my pcv valve. does anyone have a link on help to change it ? thanks

I havent worked on the 2.8L but on my older 2.5 the pcv system is basically just a tube. Only thing to go wrong on mine is the tube can get clogged. On your car there is an oil seperator. I'm not sure but i think the other partson your car are just tubes(part 1 and 6). Be sure to check part 2 if you are sure your PCV system is not working.

Have you read your plugs to see if you are getting proper ignition on all cyl? Even if the PCV is not working you car should not have the gas smell out the exhaust. If one or more of the plugs looks off you should replace them and check the coils and coil boots.
