Enlighten me: H7 bulbs?

Okay, so I took a peek in the manual to check the bulb size for the turn signal, which went out about 16 hours after I got the car. Doh! While in there, I noticed the H7 headlights. Huh?

Is that a BMW-only thing? Do aftermarket companies make super whites for it? Do they have any advantages over more common 9000-series?

You can replace 'em with Sylvania/Osram "Cool Blue" for a little whiter light w/o increasing wattage and heat. They're made in Germany and you can get 'em at most big auto parts stores for about $15 a pair.

Hopefully PIAA will offer us an alternative in the U.S. before too long.
