Ive noticed when I really go through the gears in my m3 the clutch pedal slides to the left. It seems like a bushing or a clutch stop is either gone or remvoed? I know in my 325i I didnt have this issue and I am afraid to push on it too hard because I am not sure if I might brake the cable or not. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I am sure someone else has had this problem. Any help would be great. One other thing when the car is on and I push the clutch in and release it, it makes a squeaky sound like it is a linkage that needs to be lubed or something like that. At first I thought it could be a throw out bearing but I doubt it. Any help would be great. Thanks

Search for "homemade clutch stop" that someone posted a while back here. I had the squeaky noise as well and I sprayed everything I could see with some lubricant but it only took away maybe 25% of the noise, but now it makes none at all so maybe the grease finally found its mark!

you can buy new clutch pedal bushings from UUC, they will eliminate the squeak and side slop that is a common problem with these cars

So if I dont have a welder...... Could I just jb weld a homemade clutch stop or find a way to put one behind the clutch pedal? Couldnt I actually put the stop on the clutch pedal itself if that would be easier? As for the squeaking, if it isnt going to damage anything could I get away with just spraying some oil around the linkage and not replacing the bushings? If its an easy job I would consider it but if not id want to avoid it.

go to a hardware store..***** the right size screw, washers, nuts and a rubber washer so it doesn't make a noise every time you hit it. There is a spot right behind the clutch pedal specific for a clutch stop. good luck!

I decided to try putting pepper on the lines to see if it would fix the leak. I had good success using the pepper in 3 other cars so hopefully I will with this. I will keep you guys posted if it worked or not but it seems to be better so far, we'll see.

Home made clutch stop for the E36: You need a 3/8" x 2" elevator bolt and buy a pack of felt pads that will fit the circular head of the elevator bolt. Then just screw it in hand tight! (did this today and it makes a world of difference!)
