Ok so I purchased a c/f overlay for my guages and chrome rings. I have the cluster out which is the best way to open up the cluster with out breaking the plastic loose??

When you say "open up the cluster", do you mean just seperating it into the 3 seperate sections....... or do you mean removing the perspex from the black gauge face bit (the front most piece of the 3 seperate sections)????

I would assume that the clear bit would need to be removed to get the C/F panel into the cluster. Getting that perspex piece off the black trim panel is the only bit I cant answer.

I bet its glued together with some super-strong stuff...

To be honest the Perspex cover is factory glued and I doubt you get it off without breaking it. Once you remove the screws the whole thing should separate and the glass section should come away in one piece.

I was able to gently push my rings though the dial holes from the inside and then pull them back into position.

Yeah, the rings are easy..... but Boosted said that he/she bought one of those carbon fibre panels...... the full size ones.... which means its gonna be a messy job.

I dont think ive seen a how-to on pelicanparts before either....

Ive done it to a Mazda before..... cut the perspex piece away to paint the dial surround piece... so I guess you could do the same here..... cut the BMW one open with a fine Dremel saw then use Loctite 401 to join it back together afterwards....

Its one of those "no-turning-back" jobs....
