2006 330xi winter setup

Winter's coming in fast. Right now I'm running the stock HP runflats and 18's. I really need winter tires, so I figured either Blizaks or Hakkas. I'm stuck on buying new wheels though. I don't want to run 18's in the winter because I fear damaging one of the rims badly. What is the smallest size wheel my car will take? 17"? I've heard the 330's don't go as low as 16's because they have larger rotors than the 325's.

Any recommendations on possible wheels and tires?

For winter tires they don't stagger them (front is more narrow than the rear) I'm told. Is this acceptable for the vehicle? Also I was told 205-50-R17 is what they recommend all around. :dunno:

Yes, either 205/50R17 or 225/45R17 all around.
