Will Gary or any anyone advice buying winter tires without new wheels? I have 550i A

We would stick with 225/50R17 then. There are a variety of great winter tires in that size. You'll first want to decide whether you're after maximum snow tration or more of a balance between snow/ice traction and dry road handling, see my sticky post for more info/help on this :

You can still use the exsisting wheels with no problem.

Thanks Gari What are your recomendations, I am thinking about Blizzark LM-22,Bridgestone vrs Michelin pilot alpin pa2 that i had before on my mercedes for winter tires? Thanks

The LM22 should have better ice and snow traction while the PA2 offers a bit better dry road handling and faster steering response.
