Saw what I believe is a M3 Sedan powertrain mule this morning at 10 am on Washington Blvd in Culver City. The front end caught my eye at the lights as it was blacked out (and didn't have the roundel on the hood. It was lowered and had mismatched rims on it (front to back). CA dealer plate on the rear and the quad pipes made me wish I'd pulled out my camera phone in time. The hood had tape on it as well. I can say the V8 sounded great and I'm guessing it was a manual as the driver was kinda sloppy on the shift from first to second. It looked like a normal E90 that was blacked out and had been lowered. It did not look like any of the spectacular M3 spy shots coming out of Europe. So unremarkable, in fact, that I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't spend the last two weeks educating myself on the various front bumper options for the E90 (in hopes of building a M Sport look alike).

Sorry, I know "This thread is useless without pics..."

Most interested in if they had the same grills. In those shots you can see that it has the e92 coupe grill instead of the E90 grill. Do you remember what the grill look like?

I can't recall the grill shape. I can say that it was black not chrome, but the front end was more taped than the e90 in the first thread. I didn't realize what I was looking at until the light turned green and it was obvious that it wasn't an inline six under the hood. I, of course, was just chastised (by my friend with a ZHP) for not using my shiny new w810i 2 MP camera phone. However, all I would have been able to get is a blurry shot of the rear as it sped past.

I believe this is the same car I saw the other month. Notice the two doors instead of the four I reported and the chrome grill vs the black... Good thing I actually took some photos... This seems to be the same car reported elsewhere on bimmerfest.
