I just realized that the spoiler I want is actually the OEM rear spoiler from BMW. I originally thought it was an aftermarket part.

My dealer mailed me the final documents to sign and get notarized but I want to include the rear spoiler to my order. Should I ask my sales rep to add this to the original order (hopefully they'll give me a deal on it since they're making $1500 for simply filling out some paperwork) - or-

should I buy it from a German dealership and have the German dealer install it for me?

By the way, does anyone know the part number for the 330 rear spoiler?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

These type of parts are never painted, and you will need a body shop to paint and install it for you. Having said that, the BMW center on Frankfurter Ring can order the parts and in painted colors. HOWEVER, the painted parts are EXTERMELY high in price (you could've gotten parts and painted for about the same if not cheaper) and it takes a few days for the parts to show up. Also, as a rule of thumb, VPC will typically removes things that is not part of standard car. This means that you should NOT have the munich dealer install the rear wing in Germany.

I guess I should go through my local dealer for the rear spoiler. How much should this cost?

For part # and price go to your BMW dealer and ask for a copy of the Accessories catalog. What you want may be the following:

Does the rear spoiler have a brake light on it?

From picture it looks like the answer is no.

That's what I thought. I was hoping I was wrong.

My sales rep is suggesting that it will probably cost $300 for the spoiler and an additional $500 to paint and install the spoiler. Doesn't this seem a little too expensive?
