today i tried to mount 17 inch JH3 rims on my '06 330i Sport... there was ZERO clearance with the calipers - are spacers required for this setup?

can others share their experience mounting JH3 rims on their sport?

is the minimal clearance normal??

these are the wheels Gary recommended to me and they dont fit... anyone know why?

There is no 'minimum' clearance for brakes, even 1mm is okay. We have been selling this setup for two seasons now to hundreds of owners, they do indeed fit. If the brake caliper is hitting a wheel balancing weight, have the weights moved away from that area. Confirm with the company you bought the wheels from that you told them you had a 2006 330i not a 2006 330Ci as these cars have different brakes and that would affect wheel fitment.

thanks for the reply gary - the caliper is actually scraping the inside of the rim itself - the weights dont seem to be in the way...

can you clarify 'wheel fitment' for me? the rim would be the same for either car wouldn't it? it is a 17x7.5 JH3

thank you.

For a 330i the wheel should be 32mm offset. 17X7.5". These cars have different brakes. Keep in mind that a 2006 330CI is the E46 car vs a 2006 330i is an E90 car. I'm guessing at ths point that you did not buy these directly from us? If so clarify with your dealer which car you/he ordered the wheels for.

they were ordered from a tire rack whole sale account - we believe they were ordered for the e90 but if not will spacers work to solve the problem or do i need to replace the rim. thanks for helping me solve the problem, Gary.

Then the shop bought them from our wholesale dept which is a different division of the Tire Rack.... Get with your shop, having him contact his wholesale rep. Make sure you let them know you have the 330i and they'll work on a solution with you, whether it be spacers or the correct wheels if you were sent the wrong ones. Our wholesale division is closed for the weekend, but they should be able to help your shop and you on Monday.
