Recently picked up an 04 330i ZHP with Michelins that are down to 3/32's. I am in boston, so these tires won't be good for the winter, this is also a lease assumptions so I have 7 months left with the car.

I am looking for a high performance all season tire that I can limp through the winter on and maintain a decent degree of dry performance on and also turn the car in at lease end with.

Does anyone have any experience with the Yoko Advan S4's as they are presented as solid all season tire with some dry stick?

Yes, the Advan S4 should do very well. Another one to consider is the Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S.

I drove the PZero Neros on snow in my old S4, and I'd say they were DANGEROUS in a dusting, and that's with 4WD. I was very unpleasantly surprised with them.

There are two different versions of the Pzero Nero: the "regular" version and the M&S rated version. The first is a max performance dry tire that should never be used on snow or ice (I assume these were the ones you had), and the second has an all-season compound that is pliable and useful in winter conditions.
