Gary,

The tires on my my 2006 530 xit are showing enough wear at 15k miles that I think it is time to think about replacing at least two of them so I can feel safe on the interstate this winter. I live in the mountains of CO where it can snow any day of the year so I do not want to go to winter tires . I do want a good snow rated AS tire though. On the Tirerack site the OEM Goodyears get a "would not buy again rating" as do similar V rated tires from Bridgestone and Pirelli. I've not had much luck with z rated tires in the past on other cars (allroad). No Michelins show up for this car. What do you recommend?

Thanks.

If you're only replacing two you must match to the current tires on the Xit. If you're willing to replace all four we can find something better than the OE tires. What size are you running?

The OEM tires are the Goodyear RS-A and the size is 225/50R17. And yes, if I only replace two tire it will be with these. I'm just wondering if there is something else out there that is better in snow.

Thanks

The Bridgestone Turanza LS-V would have better wet and snow traction in that size.

Since this thread was posted a year ago, would your recommendation be different today?

The LSV was replace by the Turanza Serenity. We've also had very good feedback with the Goodyear Eagle Respose Edge.
