mid to late summer 08.

I've heard that it's going to be unveiled mid next year and then at dealers late next year or very early 08.

That sounds like the plan for the Euro intro which is always ahead of US intro. I would assume that the M3 will be premiered at Geneva.

1. if you knew the answer why did you ask the question? 2. just bexause you read it on the internet doesn't mean it is true. The M3 has not be premiered at an auto show yet. BMW has never released a car to the public before showing it off at an auto show ahead of time.

You never really want the first model year anyways.
Look at what happened to all the m5. Vanos failure and SMG failures.
If the V8 is really based on the V10 I would assume to be somewhat failure free.
After the first model year they usually add more options and standard equipment.

As published in Roundel Magazine Dec 06 Page 32, According to BMW M boss Ulrich Bruhnke the new M3 will debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. In addition the guest speaker at the Central PA BMW CCA Christmas party was former BMW NA M brand manager John Coch (sp??), who said don't expect to see the new M3 in 2007, which I interpret as in model year 07 not calendar year 07. My guess is we'll see the first M3s in Sept or Oct 07 at the dealerships.

Larry Koch is (was? I heard was was moving out of that position) M brand manager for the US. He said in Nov 05 to get a 30 month lease on an E46 M3 and you would be ready for the new M3 once it comes out. Nov 05 + 30 months = May 08.

Europe always gets the new cars before the US (except sometimes the US made ones). I would expect to see the M3 out in Europe a year before the US sees it.
