Estimated Production Date....?

I just received my Production Number and when I went to track my order, it says the Estimated Production Date will be January 10, 2003. I thought it takes two months to build the car. Does this mean my car will be ready on that date? I can't imagine my car being built in one month instead of two.

I just want to make sure that my car will be ready when I fly into Munich on February 18th.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It only takes a day to build the car. The rest is just processing/transport time. Once complete it will sit around for over a month before you pick it up.

My dealer told me the Estimated Production Date (January 10) is the estimated date that the car will start to be built. I'll be flying into Munich on February 17th. I hope I'm not cutting it too close.

It takes a whole day to build the car? When I worked at the FoMoCo assembly line during college we were turning out new Mustangs at 30 seconds each!! Yes, the actual car was on the entire line almost a week but in reality once the line was full they were coming off at 2 a minute. The lucky kids were the ones who got to drive them off the line..........

So I guess if it takes a whole day to build a BMW it must be a good car :D
