i need help on my car ive been getting a air mass sensor code and my car is runing rich i was just wondering if you can somehow clean out the maf or should i just get a new one or do you think its something else

Yes you can clean the sensor and the inside but you need to be careful. You can remove the plastic grills on both sides to gain access to the sensor. I would use alcohol and some Q-tips to clean anything off the sensor you can. I have done this to my MAF a few times because I run a K&N airfilter and some oil might get on the sensor.
If that doesn't work and your wiring is good then you will need to replace the MAF...

I wouldnt use a Q-tip. Too easy to break things in there. Just shoot it with a no residue electrical parts cleaner. If the MAF has any life left it should work just fine after that.

if you use the above option, dont spray too hard as some aerosols have quite a kick to them

electrical parts cleaner are not guaranteed to not damage plastics.
