WOW, you must have been either doing long runs or have the lightest foot EVER

I filled mine up a few weeks ago to the top and got 410 miles out of it driving 350 miles on the motorway.

Well impressive buddy

For the life of me I cannot figure out why this is a good thing. If you're getting 30 mpg you're driving like my grandmother. It's a fun car, use it like it's supposed to be used. Otherwise, just egta Hyudnai.

you got an awesome gas milege!!! i had once about 27mpg driving from New Mexico to Texas, that was probably best mpg i ever had. normaly i get like 17-22 mpg.
but i drive fast and with high RPMs, so i am not very economical driver, plus i got 17"
i think that kills mpg to

AW, this is a great post, good to see our bimmers CAN do good MPG if we lay off the gas pedal!!

17" souldnt mate too much difference mate, unless you do more stop-start driving, but at higher speed they will be better

i have the same car, just a year newer with about the same mileage but i get TERRIBLE gas mileage. i kinda drive like a maniac but when i first got the car, i would get really good gas mileage but now it just seems to drop two miles for every mile. not sure if it's just me or if something's up witht the car.

Considereing the above....i would say it was you hehehehe

Any loss of performance recently to suggest there is an issue?

god knows what mine is getting around 400 miles odd to a full tank which is around 43 quid ish.

bloody fuel indicator is knackered up so have to guess when to fill it up. ( waiting for a reasonably sunny day to look at it ( seems to constantly pi$$ it down at the moment )

not bad to be honest

Well, I just filled up again. Went 456.2 miles on 14.5 gallons. 31.46 mpg!!! This is 95% highway and 5% city driving. I try to draft as much as possible behind other cars but I still go faster than the traffic in the far right lane. The biggest difference I can see is that when I'm in the city and doing like 35-40 I'll put it in 4th gear and the comsumption gauge never drops below 40 mpg! Just use higher gears! (makes sense:p ) Yes it's a boring way to drive but I always have my daughter or wife with me in the car and I rarely get stressed any more from driving!

no, not really. everything seems to be fine. i drove about 7 miles today&it docked off 20! i'm not sure what could be wrong but it sucks cus although gas is cheaper here than in europe (right?) i don't have a job so my parents have to pay for everything hahhha :/

check your codes matey, maybe an O2 sensor is on the blink

failing that, check your intake boot for damage/wear.

O2 sensors are more likely though.

PS. yeah, Petrol is nearly $2 a litre here.....80% tax!!

I can get 30+ mpg too, driving on the freeway with cruise control going 60 mph :)

I'd be passed often and given many dirty looks and probably even a honk or two though..!

Holy S**T Pitate Copy $2.00 a litre.

We are having a spin out because our petrol here in Aust is about $1.15 per litre on average. I got some ULP last night for the Landcruiser at $1.08 per litre. Made a difference as I had to put 145 litres into the bloody thing, because my wife dosnt know how to read a fuel gauge.

Anyway, how come women can drive around with the fuel lights on for days without a problem, and as soon as the make half gets in, it runs out?????

I average about 24 with my heavy foot but i got bored one night when i was on my way south and averaged 34mpg, this was just a test to see how high I could get my miles per gallon. out of 300 miles only 15 was off highway. yes i drove with the lightest foot possible and barely made the speed limit but none the less my 94 325is is capable of 34mpg hah.

25mph!! s**t On my local freeway we get down to zeromph
i think its because imbeciles drive to close to the car in front and this f**ks everybody else up
the other problem is the space stealers, leave a bit of space between you and the car in front and some dickhead dives in to steal a car length to get to his destination .001 of a second earlier

I had too get new control arms due to being really worn out.. The interior is perfect.. shifts perfectly smooth.. pulls strong, takes a little while to warm up.. But it's still a great car, and pretty fast. Blew a GTI off the road last night.

16MPG???

You either have a major traffic problem or you have a very heavy foot....(or your O2 sensor is playing up) cos 16MPG seems a bit low matey

want to buy OBC.

according to my nice little mpg thingamejob, i regularly get 30 mpg ish on the motorways(freeway) i can get more than that i've hadf it reading around the 45 ish mark but we all know thats a lie. i reckon i get around 400 miles easy out of a tank, thats not driving hard though.
