View Full Version : Another new E60 on the way . . .
I read NASA43's thread (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178833) about his newly ordered 530. I'm joining the E60 club, too! I just signed the papers this week to order my first BMW!
My 530i will be Jet Black w/black leather. I'm a lucky man in that my wife can drive a stick shift and hates "floaty" cars, so I get have the 6 spd manual trans and the Sport Package. We also ordered the Premium Pkg, Nav, Logic 7, heated front seats, and the power rear sunshade.
Thanks to all you guys on the E60 board for the great info. I'd definitely love to do an ED someday, but for now, all the glowing reviews of Performance Center Delivery made that a great alternative choice.

Congrats! I'm picking up my first Bimmer (too!) on 6 Jan...mine is the Touring variant. Like yours it has the Premium, Sports, Cold Weather, Logic7 and a few other cool bits a pieces. My wife can drive a 6-speed too, but to tell you the truth, she'll be lucky to get a chance behind the wheel. ;-)

Congratulations as well! I love Black on Black. That's my current ride though, so I decided to be adventurous and change the exterior color. I did stick with Black interior. What trim are you getting and did you consider the Anthracite headliner?
What's your delivery date at the Performance Center?

What dealership did you use TCB? What was your experience like?

These two features alone (IMHO), make this car an absolute blast to drive. You've chosen a really nice package. Congrats, and enjoy!

I went with the dark poplar trim and standard headliner. Since I chose just about everything else on a car that my wife will drive to work everyday (I have a company car), I figured she should get a little input. ;) She preferrred those options over the anthracite maple trim and anthracite headliner.
No PCD date yet, but I should hear from my CA early this week with a build date and PCD. I'm guessing it will be mid-late Feb.
p.s. - I spoke to Adrian at Nalley while I was shopping and he mentioned that he'd just ordered a 530 for PCD for a 'fester from Alabama . . . I'm guessing that was you!

Donkey,
I used Roadshow BMW in Memphis. I had been referred to a specific CA by a friend who used to work at the dealership. She had already told him that I'd done lots of research and knew exactly what I wanted. I took an invoice + $X offer with me and they gave me a fair counter-offer after talking to the GM. My CA hasn't done many PCD's, but nothing he's said so far has me worried that there'll be any problems. Overall, I'd say so far, so good.

Yes, that would be me. I suspect your car is being built this week.

Congrats!
Sounds like my kind of car: sport package and manual transmission!
Yes, you have to marry a woman who can drive a stick - my wife's first few cars when we were newly married were a VW cabrio, then a VW Passat wagon, both manual. Gotta love woman who can row her own gears...
