View Full Version : Coolant

Coolant warning light was on (then off in a minute) when I turned on my car this morning. Is it too soon to have low coolant level after only 11500 mi? If the light is not on again, can I drive it for a few days throughout the holiday without much concern? Anyhow, can anyone recommend a service advisor in any of the Orange county dealers, Crevier, NB, and Irvine? I'd like to have all accumulated small issues with my car fixed at once. Many TIA.

The only way to answer this question is to check the coolant level. The procedure is described in your owner's manual.
If the level is acceptable, and you're temperature gauge isn't reading hot (should be centered), then it's probably a faulty sensor or some transient condition that isn't reason to avoid driving. Otherwise, I'd have it checked out. And, if it doesn't happen again, I wouldn't worry about it.

Here are 2 previous threads that have some discussion of the same thing as it happened to my car.
Ended up being just a little evaporation/burn off, pressure check showed no problems.
